MSc., BSc (Hons), SCPHN-OH, OHN Cert, FRSPH

Carole has been a member of the Mid Downs Occupational Health Group for over six years and was the Vice Chair of the Group between 2005 and 2008 during which time she also contributed to the activities of the Conference Organising Committee.  Carole was elected as the Chairperson at the AGM in January 2009.

Carole began her nursing career in 1979 and since 1982 she has worked in occupational health.  Her varied career in occupational health includes working in the Power Industry where she held a senior occupational health position in National Power and in Consultancy where she was engaged as a Director for Cheviot Artus plc.  As a Director, this demanding role had many challenging elements, especially in winning new business, the strategic planning of health risk management and service provision in client companies.

In 2005 Carole set up Priority Occupational Health Ltd which provides specialist advice on occupational health and safety, working closely with clients and developing innovative strategies enabling the management of health at work.  She thrives on the challenges of working on a consultancy basis, in a team and with associates on a range of contracts across a variety of business sectors whilst at the same time managing a growing business.  Carole is a member of COHPA (The Commercial Occupational Health Providers Association Ltd) and she takes an active role in the events of this Association.

Being an active member of the MDOHG creates important opportunities for professional networking activities and includes being a forum for professional update, study days and the enjoyable social events.  As a self employed practitioner, it is vital that opportunities are created in order to update practice with fellow OH professionals.

Carole is passionate about continuing to take an active role within the MDOHG and as an Executive Committee member has undertaken to ensure opportunities are created for members to fully participate and engage with developments in occupational health, health and safety and the health, work and wellbeing arena.  Carole strongly believes the MDOHG needs to continue to ensure that the members are provided with a relevant supportive networking community that is at the cutting edge and reflects the needs of practitioners working in the dynamic arena that is managing health at work.
