Vice Chair: Carole Miller BSc (Hons) RN OHN Cert FRSH
Carole joined the Mid Downs Occupational Health Group five years ago and has been the Vice Chair of the Group for almost four years. Carole began her nursing career in 1979 and since 1982 she has worked in occupational health. Her varied career in occupational health includes holding senior positions in the power industry and consultancy, having been lucky enough to have held occupational health posts in National Power and Cheviot Artus plc.
In 2005 Carole set up Priority Occupational Health Ltd which provides specialist advice on occupational health and safety, working closely with clients and developing innovative strategies enabling the management of health at work. She thrives on the challenges of working on a consultancy basis, in a team and with associates on a range of contracts across a variety of business sectors and at the same time managing a growing business. Carole is a member of COHPA (The Commercial Occupational Health Providers Association Ltd) and she takes an active role in the events of the Association.
Being an active member of the MDOHG creates important opportunities for professional networking activity and includes being a forum for professional update, study days and the enjoyable social events. As a self employed practitioner, it is vital that opportunities are created in order to update practice with fellow OH professionals. The MDOHG has very generously supported Carole who is currently two thirds through completing an MSc degree.
Carole is passionate about continuing to take an active role within the MDOHG and as an Executive Committee member. Carole strongly believes the MDOHG needs to continue to ensure that the members are provided with a relevant supportive networking community that is cutting edge and reflects the needs of practitioners working in the dynamic arena that is managing health at work.
